Meerman Groep open house
On May 12th and 13th, Meerman Groep organised an opening ceremony of their new premises in Vlaardingen and an open house day for their customers. Meerman Groep is the first distributor of Kubota Europe to sell Kubota Construction machinery in Europe from 1979. They have reached 10 000 units sold in The Netherlands this year which represents 10% of Kubota Europe sales during the same period. Meerman Groep is a family own company founded by Adrian Meerman who started in the 1950’s by selling worksite lamps. The actual CEO, Lourens Meerman is the son of the founder and two of his children are now working in the company: Ilse and Koen Meerman.
As Meerman Groep is a growing company they needed larger premises for their activity. In 2017 they built a new building of 1 200 m² on 5 200m² of land including offices, show room, meeting rooms, cantine, spare parts shop and a large workshop with all the tools necessary to insure a good service.
During the opening ceremony, Mr Miyake, director of Kubota Europe Construction Machinery division handed a trophy to Mr Meerman celebrating the 10 000th machine sold to Meerman and Mr Shimokawa, president of Kubota Europe, offered a typical Japanese Bonzai of more than 30 years old symbol of compactness like Kubota compact excavators and long life like the partnership between Kubota and Meerman. Mr Taguchi, president of Kubota Baumaschinen GmbH, Kubota factory in Germany was also present at this ceremony.
On May 13 th, Meerman Machines had a large display of Kubota construction machinery for their open house. The customers were able to test the two new models of Kubota excavators: the KX027-4 and KX042-4. Meerman organized a lot of attractions for the visitors including virtual driving, skilled driving. Everyone could enjoy nice refreshments, food and candies. A good day for business and leasure!
